Tencel - Lyocell

Tencel’s history is relatively a quite young one. Patented by the American Enka in 1972, it started very slow in the fashion world until it was bought by the Austrian company Lenzing which distributes the yarns and commercializes the brand Tencel and Lyocell.
Cornerstones of this new start were many different factors, starting from the “peach hand” grip, which feels very similar to the very expensive washed silks, its high breathability, the cellulose extracted from only eucalyptus trees and above all its low environmental impact, due to a total recycling of the solvents used during the production.
