Our supreme selection of mohair mélange includes different colours of a mohair (80%), wool (10%) and polyamide (10%) blend, which makes the fabric warm, soft and silky-handed.

Mohair is a silk-like fabric from the hair of the Angora goat. A long, white fiber that is notable for its high sheen and smooth feel, it is considered a luxury fiber like silk and cashmere, and has been given the nickname
"diamond fiber". It is often blended with other fibers, especially wool.
Mohair is one of the oldest fibers in the world. The word mohair is derived from the Arabic word "mukhayyar", which means
"finest fleece selected". The Angora goat was thought to originate from the mountains of Tibet and reached Turkey in the 16th century.
It was later introduced to England, South Africa, and the United States in the 1800s.
Mohair was popular as a wool-blend suiting fabric in the 1960s.

The length and quality of mohair depend on the shearing amount per year. Less shearing times and young Angora goats can produce finer, longer, and softer fibers that are considered higher quality (usually 19-20 microns) when compared to adult mohair fiber.
