Cotton has a 95% cellulose composition and is a light, soft material with high absorption properties. An interesting fact is that the color changes depending on the origin of origin. In American varieties the fiber is white, while in Egyptian varieties it has a yellowish color, and finally those of Chinese origin have a reddish-brown color. Similarly, the length of the fiber also varies between 60 and 10 mm. In general, cotton has inelastic behavior and its mechanical strength is affected by the presence of water: wet fibers are more tenacious than dry ones.
