The fundamental characteristics of silk lie in its length and fineness, averaging around 800 meters. Another crucial aspect in assessing silk is its tactile sensation, which reveals the softness, flexibility, and fluidity of the fiber. An extremely soft silk fiber produces fabrics that drape gently, while a stiffer fiber offers greater support to the fabric structure. Silk has low elasticity but is surprisingly strong, especially in its "raw" form.
